ANA INSPIRATION | FIRST MAJOR OF THE YEAR

Katie Burnett Blog Post #4 | Posted April 14th

Rancho Mirage, California

"Wow, what an incredible experience to walk down the fairways of such an iconic scene in women's golf.  The first time I walked across the Champions Bridge to the 18th green and laid my eyes on "Poppies Pond", all I could think about was how I would jump in the pond after winning one of the most talked about Major Championships of the year.  It was the same eerie feeling I had walking down the fairways of St. Andrews in my first British Open.  There is so much tradition at the Dinah Shore and so many great golfers have walked this course before me.  I have finally played in all 5 Major Championships! I'm already excited about next year in Rancho Mirage; I wish we played it more often.  It was such a great week with incredible fans and it was such a great experience for me!  Next up is Hawaii.."

KATIE BURNETT BLOG POST #3

DUBAI

Back In Action

In Dubai, United Arab Emirates for my last tournament of 2014 after taking a month and a half off from tournament play.  I forgot how beautiful this city was, it it's own unique way, especially at night when the entire city is lit up.  It's crazy to think 25 years ago none of this was here.  The Golf Course, Emirates Golf Club, could not be in any better shape. I have looked forward to playing in this tournament all year, not only is this a cool city with amazing things to do, (skydiving, camel back riding, ski Dubai in the mall to name a few) but the golf course as I said is in incredible shape and they also treat us like queens here. Marc and I are off at 12:40 tomorrow and I couldn't be more ready to tee it up, but today it's "Fun Day" here. First things first, time to get some morning practice in and then off to do something fun the rest of the day!  Quad bikes in the desert anyone?  Scroll down for pictures below :)

KATIE BURNETT BLOG POST #2

S.Carolina / Florida Game

I had the opportunity to go to The University of South Carolina vs The University of Florida football game this past Saturday.  It was my first experience with an away game and it was definitely an experience I won't forget. One of my friends who is also a former golfer at The University of South Carolina (and a big deal at Russell Athletic) was able to get us tickets. We had great tickets; we were sitting on the 40 yard line about 40 rows up, but on the Florida sideline. So there we were two girls decked out in Gamecock attire, garnet and black, in the middle of a sea of blue and orange.  South Carolina scored quickly and Laura and I jumped out of our seats in excitement but quickly remembered we should probably refrain because of where we were sitting.  Let's just say we got more than one dirty look.  The Gamecocks didn't play that well the rest of the game, but it is hard to bet against the Head Ball Coach especially given his reputation in Florida.  In the 4th quarter our defense/special teams were able to block a field goal, block a punt, and tie the ball game with 22 seconds left.  It went to overtime and my Gamecocks won 23-20.  You couldn't have heard two girls scream any louder and go absolutely crazy after pulling off a miraculous win in "The Swamp".

Needless to say, I will be going to a few more away games in the future :)
